I have no clue how to start this blog off so I figured I’d just write something and let the words flow through me and maybe it’ll make something coherent!

I started this blog because I am always frustrated by how retailers display their inks on their websites. Swatches are beautiful and wonderful and probably very fun to make, but they are also very useless for determining what an ink will actually look like when written from a fountain pen. And they are fountain pen inks, so I think it’s important to see what an ink looks like written from a fountain pen.

To that end, I’ve been collecting inks and ink samples of lots of different inks. So far it’s mostly been my favorite color families – purples, magentas, teals, and lots and lots of blacks. I have a handful of others too, and they’ll be sprinkled into the lineup of reviews, but to start out, I have a lot of different black inks to try and test, so it’s going to be a lot of black to start.

This is only a fraction of my madness…

Along the way I’ll also be reviewing some pens and paper too, because those are also important parts of this hobby. And hopefully I’ll figure out how to take better phone photography, because right now it’s pretty rough.

Anyway! No one knows this blog exists so I’m talking to myself for now. Go team.
